My friend found a box of photographs from a war memorial in Ukraine, with pictures of her grandfather and some friends. With some Google magic I helped her find the location of the memorial, but this message (in Polish) is a different story. Would love if someone could help!

I really love experimenting with different alphabets when writing something. Granted, I'm not a calligrapher, and I'm pretty sure a few of the characters are incorrectly drawn, but it was really fun writing this down. (Major kudos to whomever can decipher the message)
While on the beach she finds a bottle with a message, some sand and some money. Once opened she read that the sand was actually the ashes of this woman's husband of 70 years named Gordon. He loved to travel so she sent him with a note and money for someone to call home and tell her where he landed.
